Modern Therapy to Help You Pave Your Way
Therapy for
Today & Every DaY
At Path & Purpose, I help motivated young adults and millennials deal with the everyday challenges of modern life. As a licensed clinical social worker, I approach therapy with a comfortable, friendly style to help people like you find balance in the highs and lows of day-to-day living. From anxiety and chronic illness to relationship issues and life transitions, I'll teach you how to move through recurring thoughts and habits that hold you back and see your struggles from a new perspective.
Using the tools gained in therapy, you'll learn new ways to make decisions, take action and embrace a rich and meaningful life. Come open the door to your truest self.
A MODERN APPROACH
TO MENTAL HEALTH
It's a new era for mental health. Mental health used to be seen as a heavy subject and talk of "therapy" was hush-hush. Thankfully, things have changed. Today's therapists, like me, look at things differently: Mental health is something we can tend to every day – and even laugh along the way. Therapy provides the tools that can help us learn how to navigate life more effectively, even when we seem to be getting by pretty well. These therapeutic tools help us discover new ways to reflect, assess and make choices that are true to who we are and where we're going.
Here's the thing: Your life will not always be the way it is today. Some days will be amazing. Others ... not so much. The reality is, if you're living, you'll experience the good, the bad and everything in between. Sometimes you'll feel totally on track, and other times, you'll be convinced you've lost your way. It's my job to teach you how to use the tools of therapy to troubleshoot and solve life's challenges, big and small alike.

Frameworks
I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities rooted in self-acceptance and self-awareness. These include motivational interviewing, strengths-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, relational therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which directs us to make purposeful decisions in line with our values and goals. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which replaces triggering negative mental images with positive ones through the power of eye movements. ART can successfully treat issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, post-traumatic stress, and obsessive-compulsive disorder in as little as one session.
ACT teaches us "psychological flexibility." We begin with identifying and connecting to what is important to us in life while also understanding that there are some things we can't change. Then we focus on finding fresh approaches to our challenges. As a result, our distress tolerance increases, so we can handle the hard stuff without denying our emotions, sabotaging ourselves or working against our goals and values.
Who I work With
I work with young adults and millennials at different stages of their journey. Like you, they have a lot going on. They're dealing with everything from relationships and family pressures to chronic illness and addiction. They're heading in new directions or navigating big transitions.
They also share something in common: They're struggling and are ready to assess the situation and take action.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
(LCSW-S, PMH-C)
As the founder of Path & Purpose, I'm passionate about helping people work through emotional and physical barriers in their lives to find a path to optimal living.
I'm a master's level clinician and a licensed clinical social worker. I’m currently licensed in Texas, Illinois, and Michigan, and I’m a Texas Board-approved Supervisor providing supervision for master’s level social workers. After completing my graduate work at Loyola University Chicago, I began my career in the healthcare setting with a focus on supporting clients dealing with chronic illnesses and life transitions. I've worked across the age spectrum, from helping young kids and their families deal with diabetes, to aiding older adults with end-of-life transitions. My training includes the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International. Next to therapy, I have a love of fitness and movement. I'm a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a committed fitness coach.
Therapy Services
Therapy sessions are private, confidential and one-on-one. Depending upon your needs, I'll recommend we meet weekly or every other week for a set period of time. We'll head out on a path together to navigate what's going on and see where it takes us. When it makes sense for you to go off on your own, I'll be all for it. And I'll be here if and when you find yourself at a new crossroads.
Each session is conducted via a secure telehealth platform. Starting in July 2024, a limited number of in-person sessions will be available in Houston. Please contact me for scheduling and location info.

Insurance Coverage
Path & Purpose does not currently accept insurance and is considered an out-of-network provider, which means fees must be covered up front. However, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement from your insurance provider for a percentage of your mental health care costs; in some cases, insurance covers up to 80 percent. We recommend you check in with your insurance provider to find out what coverage options are available to you.
Your Path,
Your Purpose
Progress is a winding path, and each new bend, dip and rise is an opportunity to see things from a new perspective.
In our work together, you'll begin to see the highs and lows of life from a new vantage point. Using the tools gained in therapy, you'll find it's easier to work through the hard stuff and enjoy the good. You'll learn to observe your thoughts, feelings and actions and practice non-judgmental self-awareness. You'll become skilled at staying present in the moment. The best part is that you get to take what you learn with you, wherever you choose to go.
